Wednesday, April 18, 2012 – Happy hump day!! Recently I posted about luminance masks and I wasn’t sure if I had created the actions properly. Well I did some tests and it looks like they are working as expected. I used a picture that I was going to put in my portfolio (and I still might) but I am having registration errors in the upper left hand portion of the photo along with weird color casts. It remains to be seen if I can pull this one off but already I have spent hours on this photo. In any event I used the Darks and Dark Darks masks which chose the darker portions of the photo. I used a soft brush at 800 width with a 40% opacity and started painting in light. Look at the tip of the island and the bush in the lower left hand corner. These areas are the most affected. I will post the original first, followed by the darks, and finally the dark darks. Take a look and have a great day!!
