Monday, September 3, 2012 – Hey guys what’s up!!  So this was a shot I took on the 17th of August with a friend of mine Dave Stelmach.  You can find his website here.  The night before I was down by the pier and the sky had some really awesome colors and a really neat cloud formation which I wish I had captured.  I went down the night after hoping it would be similar and while it wasn’t as spectacular it was a very nice sunset!!

This was one of those pictures that I thought was going to kill me in terms of the time it took to figure things out (such as ghosting with long exposures) and making sure when I removed the ghosts that the area surrounding the people wouldn’t be too dark or too light.  What I found is that if I keep the original tiff files I can view the settings I made in photomatix, however if I deleted those files after performing noise reduction it will not read the settings and I would be out of luck.  So the lesson for the day is to keep all tiff files or make sure to make notes on every tone map that I make to save room on my external hard drives.  Whew.  Something to add to the recipe 🙂  Hope you guys enjoyed your weekend and if you aren’t working today have a great day!!
