Hey guys what’s up? So I feel like I’ve been working on one project after the other. First I started with a RetroPie (which is a video game emulator), now I am working on my website (which is almost done except for some pictures and blog posts), and after that I plan on starting another Raspberry Pi project that will encompass home/voice automation.
This actually started with me doing research into home/voice automation. I know there are many products on the market that can help me achieve this but I want to DIY it. Of course I still have more research to do but I plan on using openHAB as my software platform and a raspberry pi as my hardware platform.
Because this was going to take so much time and energy, and I knew that my brother in law wanted a NES Classic Edition I thought to myself why don’t I try and build that as well. What I can tell you was this project was very rewarding and there are some takeaways I can use with openHAB. One is that the Pi 3 runs very hot and depending on the load it could require that I use an active or passive cooling system. The second takeaway is that I will more than likely need to put the system on a UPS to prevent memory card corruption. And the last thing is that I will need to secure the system changing the username/password and possibly other settings which I have documented.
More to come on this!!
Enjoying your journey my friend. Looking forward to the next episode.
Thank you!! How are you doing? Are you still shooting?
