Today I woke up around 6:30 and stayed in bed till 7. I had hoped to get some breakfast before I went out but that wasn’t the case. I waxed my board and was getting ready to head out but Logan, someone I met at the camp was going out as well so I waited for him.

We surveyed the area looking for a way in and eventually decided to go in the easier way (not beside the big rocks). The paddle out took around 30 minutes easily.

Where we ended up sitting was the wrong place and on the bigger sets we were getting swept up and dragged which wasn’t fun. Once we moved it was better but it took me a long time to get a wave.

The first wave I got was really steep and while I knew I would get it I was getting cold sitting there and I wasn’t sure my body would cooperate. I got one other wave which was steep as well and that was the only other wave I got and rode. Another wave I tried for I got pummeled on. It was too steep and I was too deep.

I went in shortly afterwards as I was getting cold and I hadn’t had breakfast yet. When we got back to the camp I was expecting a breakfast sandwich but there was only bread, bananas, and coffee which was fine. I ate and felt much better.

A little after that Logan took me to the market in town which I was grateful for because I didn’t think I could make another walk into town. I got some small things like water, bananas, yogurt, and some chips. After I finished Logan took me back to the camp which I was grateful for then we parted ways as he was going to drive up the coast a bit then back to Santiago where he was doing some research and measuring bones. He is studying to become a physical anthropologist.

From about 12ish till about 4 I was working on a personal project then I grabbed a bite to eat at a small diner down the road where I had two sandwiches with ham, tomato, avocado, and some other items along with pineapple juice and a cappuccino. I paid 13,500 CLP which was around $20 US.

After that I took a shower and got into bed as it was starting to cool down and I was cold. Trying to adjust after my schedule has been so early has proven difficult. I guess that will take some time but I am grateful for the time off and honestly I am looking forward to school in June!!

Before I forget here is a picture of the camp
