2014.07.12 – 2014.07.19 – I know…it takes me forever to post my pictures. You have no idea how many times I debated just trashing everything I had and just starting over 🙂 I guess that’s what they call an artists process.

So I was fortunate to travel to Nicaragua this year. To kick off the trip I go to the automated check in kiosk and I was having some problems (so what’s new) and the lady who was assisting me says to me Mr Ishii you should be in that line over there. I look over at that line and say “I don’t think so” and she says you are a VIP. Looking puzzled I look at my ticket and low and behold I am sitting in first class! Now you are probably asking yourself what (fill in the blank) doesn’t know he is flying first class. Well…this guy. So in my defense I cashed in my Chase points and didn’t realize. Anyway traveling there and back was awesome!!

I got to Popoyo Surf Lodge in the afternoon around 2 or 3 and I went to hit the surf right away at this beach break called beachy 🙂 It was really windy and small but hey I had no wetsuit on and there was barely anyone in sight. You can’t say that about socal.

The next couple of days were also small . Around 1-3ft but there was a building swell that was approaching on Wednesday. I surfed from Saturday to Tuesday, took Wednesday off because I wanted to rest and possibly go to town to cruise around, and surfed Thursday and Friday which were incredible!!

Thursday & Friday was around 4-6 ft with an occasional 7 maybe 8 footer. I had some of my best sessions those days and met a friend who I surfed with here up near Malibu area.

I don’t have any surf pictures or people pictures but this is a little of what I took.

This is of Mag Rock or Magnificent Rock. And man in person this thing was awesome!! The picture doesn’t do it justice. I tried a couple of times to get to the water level but the tide wasn’t right.

This next picture is the lookout from Mag Rock. Not sure if I like this one but here it is 🙂

And the last one was at Popoyo which was a pretty fun reef break
