Sleeping has been very difficult. I feel like I get a couple hours of solid rest then I’m struggling for the next three to four hours before getting up. There is a lot of noise coming from the road and I have tried to rectify this by closing my window, drawing the curtains, and sleeping on the other side of the bed. I just realized that there are wooden doors that close outside the window however I am not sure that will provide much more sound dampening… Guess I’ll try later on tonight and see if that helps.

I ate the standard breakfast at the camp which consisted of cereal, bread with butter and jam, a hard boiled egg, juice, coffee, dates, figs, and raisins. After that I got my surf gear together, filled up my water bottle, grabbed my surfboard and then we were off to surf.

We started off going to La Source which was a spot on the right from the lookout point and the spot to the left was called Mysteries. Both spots were crumbly, inconsistent, and not very good so we went to check a place called Anza. This spot was about the same so we went back to La Source. We took a look for a while and I saw some decent rides happening further south at Anchor Point. We went to take a look and decided that was the place we were going to surf.

When we got there there were about 6-10 guys out so it was perfect. It seemed like everyone was sharing and having a good time. The first one to three waves I caught were pretty good but short rides. I can tell that I am holding my front side turn for too long and when I try and snap it around the turn is very slow. I am not sure if this is a function of not using my arms/head enough. Guess I’ll have to get lessons to figure that one out.

After I got out both Jordy and Spencer got out shortly afterwards. We packed up the van and came back to the surf camp. As soon as we got back Jordy projectile vomited at least 5-6 times if not more. He stayed in the front reception area as his roommate was not feeling well and she used both toilets in the main area. He was sick for quite a long time so I made sure he was ok then I rinsed my wetsuit and booties and laid down for a little while in the hopes that I would nap but that didn’t happen. Instead I blogged a bit and read until I was bored then went for a walk.

I didn’t really have a destination in mind. I just wanted to explore a bit more and see what was on the outskirts of town. I found this cafe that was really cool and overlooked the water. If I was hungry I would’ve eaten but I wasn’t.

I came back to the camp and chilled till dinner. We had chicken tagine with vegetables and couscous which was pretty good then I came back up to my room and called it an evening.
