My day began at 4am. I had some coffee then took a super shuttle to the airport. Surprisingly for New Year’s Day the traffic was light and check in was quick.

The first leg of the flight was from LAX to JFK. The second leg was from JFK to Casablanca. The second leg felt longer (and I’m sure it was) but that could have been because I hadn’t gotten much sleep. The last leg of the flight from Casablanca to Agadir was short but I was worried we were going to miss our flight. We took off a little late but arrived on time.

Our driver took us from Agadir to Taghazout which took around 40 minutes. Take aloof at the road that leads up to the camp and the driveway down.

After settling in and grabbing my wetsuit, booties, wax, wax comb, fin key, and board we went for a surf at Anchor Point. The swell was pumping and I was glad to be able to surf that spot as it was top on my list!!

For dinner I ate with Ben & Billy at Cafe Mouja the restaurant that was connected to the surf camp. I had a veggie burger that wasn’t that exciting but I needed something bland as my stomach wasn’t feeling that great.

I was fading fast and needed to take a walk so I didn’t fall asleep. I excused myself and walked around taghazout. I was trying to find someone that had a micro sim for my phone in case of an emergency but I couldn’t find one. I was also looking for a laundromat but couldn’t find that either.

I went back to the hotel and lasted till about 7:30 before I called it a night.
