Today I woke up at 5:00am. Not much different from a work day in terms of time 🙂 I was looking south at the pier and the sunrise was gorgeous. Check it out!!
I grabbed some coffee and cereal and headed to the airport with Emilio at 5:30. Once we got there we had to circle around a couple of time before I saw Pat. I pointed him out to Emilio and he pulled over. Pat jumped in the van and we started catching up. It was good to see him!! Especially since there was no one else at the camp.
On the way back Emilio took us to his aunt and uncles house where we checked out El Pimental. It actually looked pretty good for a beach break so we decided to go to the hotel, drop his stuff off, pick up the boards, and go back.
It took about an hour to get back but once we did it was great!! The best part is that we were the only ones out there and the waves were the best I have had yet (fingers are crossed for Wednesday and Thursday). I caught two good lefts and at least two good rights that made my session.
We surfed for quite a while…at least it felt like it and we left so Pat could get some food and relax. We both had a smoothie, and he had the egg rolls, and fish tacos. I ended up getting the breakfast burrito which I was too hungry to take a picture of 🙂
We parted ways and I blogged, read, and took a half hour nap even though I set my alarm for an hour ?. At about 2:45pm almost three I heard some voices so I texted Pat to see if he was up and a couple minutes later he and Joe came down to my room. It was good to see Joe and he sounded ready to surf so we talked for a couple of minutes then headed out the door.
Emilio suggested El Sunzal which was windy and mushy however there was some size. Maybe around 4′. I didn’t catch much to speak of but it seemed like the guys had fun. About 20-30 minutes into the session Joe got really quiet and I asked him what was up. I think the traveling and lack of food finally caught up with him and we decided to surf maybe another 30 minutes and get out.
I had one of the specialities which was fish with shrimp and vegetables. It was pretty good. Take a look!!
We parted ways early that night and while I tried to sleep around 9 realistically I didn’t get to sleep till about 10:30pm.
