Friday, May 13, 2011 – Recently I have noticed noise artifacts at low ISO (400 and 200) and thought to myself this should not be.  After doing some research online I found a blog that suggested if “Highlight tone priority” was enabled under the menu setting C.FN II-3 that noise would increase in the shadow areas.  I have since disabled this and also “Auto Lighting
Optimizer” under menu setting C.FN II-4 from 0: Standard to 3: Disable after reading the manual.  I took a couple of test shots, loaded them onto my computer, and still the images are noisy shooting at ISO 400.

This was all brought about after critique on Wednesday night after I saw my noisy image of Heitor at Lowers Pro.  I printed a 14×11 image of him and it was terrible.  Since then I have contacted Canon Support and have turned my camera in today for inspection.  I hope it doesn’t cost me anything more than what I already paid…That being said if it does then I have no choice except to pay.

Keep reading as I have come up with some new projects for myself that I am very excited about.  More to come on that.  Also if you have a website, blog, anything online and want me to post a link please send it my way and I will happily post it in a blog post and on twitter.  Take care all and have a great weekend!!
